Membership Agreement & Code of Conduct

Safety

• I will prioritize safety at all times in the lab, at competitions, and during outreach events.
• I will wear proper safety equipment (including safety glasses) when using or near tools and machinery.
• I will only use tools and equipment for their intended purpose, and only if I have been trained or authorized to do so.
• I will contribute to keeping the lab and workspace clean and organized to reduce risks and prevent accidents.
• I will actively watch out for the safety of my teammates and respectfully remind others to follow safety practices.
• I will report any unsafe conditions, behaviors, or accidents to a mentor immediately.

Conduct & Team Values

• I will follow all team rules, school policies, and FIRST guidelines.
• I will demonstrate Gracious Professionalism® and Coopertition® in all settings where I represent FRC 1811.
• I will respect all mentors, teammates, competitors, volunteers, and event staff.
• I understand that my actions reflect on the team, the school, and FIRST.

Commitment & Responsibility

• I will attend meetings, workshops, and events to the best of my ability and communicate if I cannot attend.
• I will contribute to both technical and non-technical aspects of the team as needed.
• I will take responsibility for my assigned tasks and complete them to the best of my ability.
• I will actively contribute to the team’s success and support my teammates.
• I will seek help from mentors or teammates if I am struggling with a task or concept.
• I will take responsibility for my role on the team and support others in theirs.

Information & Media

• I grant permission for FRC 1811 to use my name, likeness, and information provided (such as photos, video, or quotes) for team purposes, including media, outreach, and reporting.
• I grant FRC 1811 permission to use the information I provide for team participation in educational, emergency, or promotional purposes, with the understanding that personal identifying information will not be shared publicly.

Gracious Professionalism® and Coopertition® are core values of FIRST and FRC 1811. I will strive to embody these values in all my interactions and contributions to the team.
Gracious Professionalism® means competing to win but also treating everyone with kindness and respect, ensuring that everyone feels valued.
Coopertition® means competing fiercely while still helping other teams when possible, ensuring that everyone learns, improves, and succeeds together.

By joining the team/extracurricular activities, you are agreeing to this Membership Agreement & Code of Conduct, you commit to upholding these principles and contributing positively to the team environment. You understand that failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in consequences, including removal from the team.
